Hello, who are you?

Most people have wondered at least at some point: ”Who am I? What is it that makes ME? What defines my identity?”

Very few people ever feel completely satisfied with the answer they come up with. Some might embrace their own sense of identity for a while yet face the reality of the impermanence of things.

If we wonder what defines ourselves in this present moment it can be quite different from wondering “What is the essence of me?”

“Who are you?” is a question I have often asked people in social settings. I like to hear how people define themselves.

Here is a summary of the kind of answers I’ve heard .

**** CAREER ****

Most will answer by talking about their career. From the top of my head, 75% come up with something related to the way they make a living or not.

“I work for a multi national company.”

“ I am a business man .

“I’m looking for a job.

“I’m studying at University of Nigeria nsukka.”

“I’m an investor.”

“I’m a stay at home mother.”

**** VICTIMS ****

A small proportion define themselves as victims. Strangely enough not always for you to feel sorry about them. Sometimes it’s just the story they tell themselves about their own life and worth:

“I always do everything for everyone but all I get in return is THAT” That, can be quite a few things from being shun, criticized, left out, unloved…

“I’m a survivor.”

“I’m unlucky.”

“I’m poor.”

"I'm depressed"

“I’m a single mother raising my children alone.”

**** PERSONALTY ****

Another small proportion will use a personality trait they think define them:

“I’m an introvert.”

“I’m a nerd.”

“I’m just a happy going kind of a guy who goes with the flow.”

**** MARITAL STATUS ****

Many include their marital status in their answer.

**** RELIGION ****

The odd one out will reply with their religious views:

“I’m an atheist who only believes in facts.”

“I’m a devoted christian.”

**** EVASION ****

You will also find those who don't know what to answer and will evade the question:

“I’m nobody special.”

“I don't know how to respond.”

“I’ve never really thought about it that way.”

**** PHILOSOPHY ****

Some might respond in philosophical terms:

“Who I am as an individual does not matter as much as who we are as a society.

From my point of view you must not be asking the formal society way….

So let’s get through our thoughts that what we think you will become.

You might be surprised but yes, what you think that you are is who you’re.

don’t take me wrong, you might be thinking i am a crazy fellow who’s answering this type of things.

But in reality what you think is who you become.

if you think that you're just a name then you’re just a name, if you think that your're rich then you’re, if you think you are poor yes you’re.

But in reality who’re you?

From where your thoughts come?

By connecting dots…..

In reality you’re a soul living in this body who knows all the things but seating inside your body.

This is just a material body, we create material things from our thoughts, The Big innovation is made by a thought of making it possible.

When we’re a child we must had one AIM in life whatever, whether it’s Army, doctor, educationist or an Engineer. We become that by believing or practicing it by focus.

So if you want to be someone be that one feel like being that one and next moment you’ll be.
